apostilla quintana roo

Do you need a birth, marriage, or death certificate from Quintana Roo but are currently in another Mexican state or abroad? Do you need an apostille to use official documents from Quintana Roo internationally? You’re not alone! More and more people need to carry out these procedures remotely, whether for citizenship matters, international weddings, studies, immigration, or legal affairs. In this blog, we explain how to do it safely, quickly, and without complications—no matter where you are.

What is an apostille and what is it for?

An apostille is an official certificate that validates a Mexican document for legal use in other countries that are members of the Hague Convention. It is essential for using documents such as civil registry certificates, notarized powers of attorney, or academic diplomas abroad, without requiring additional procedures through consulates.

How to obtain certificates from Quintana Roo from another location?

If your certificate was registered in Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, or any municipality in Quintana Roo, we can obtain it on your behalf as your agents. You only need to provide:

  • The full details of the person and the certificate, including the full name of the registrant, date of birth, place of registration, date of registration, parents’ names, registry office number, and book number. To make it easier, you can download a digital certificate from the official Mexican government website. You’ll need all the required details and a credit card to complete this online process. However, please note that digital certificates cannot be apostilled. For that, a physical certificate from the Civil Registry is required. With the digital copy, we can go and retrieve the official printed version.
  • In some cases, a simple power of attorney (if a third party is handling the process). We will let you know if this is required, though generally, it is not necessary.

And what about the apostille?

Once we’ve obtained the certificate, if you need it apostilled, the procedure is carried out through the Secretaría de Gobierno de Quintana Roo in Cancún or Chetumal. If you are in another state or country, we can handle everything: retrieving the original document, processing the apostille, and sending it directly to your home abroad.
